Dzani Ashi Management & Information Systems Week 7
Lecture:
In this week's Lecture we started to go through how to properly prepare and deliver a presentation in relation to our group work task as we are at the point in the assignment where groups are expected to have started working on their presentations and making preparations to record them. The lecture focused on talking us through several "do's and don'ts" in regards to creating and delivering a presentation, for example it was made very clear that our presentation slides should not have a lot of dialogue and that we should make sure to only include key details on each slide in order to ensure that we keep the audience's interest and also to demonstrate that we are genuinely knowledgeable about the subject of our presentation and that we are not simply reading our slides word-for-word. We also went through some good examples of presentations and some bad examples so that we had a clear idea of what our presentations should look like and so that we understood exactly what we shouldn't include in our presentations.
Seminar:
In this weeks seminar we learnt about the scenario summary function in Excel and how businesses can make use of it in order to create forecasts covering the alterations of several factors in order to make them more flexible.
Group work:
This week our group had a follow-up meeting with HR Consultants in order to acquire further information on some of the subjects that we weren't completely clear on and also to ensure that the solutions and problems that we will be speaking of in our presentation are as accurate as possible. During the meeting we managed to get some clarification on how HR consultants manages their data and we also we given the e-mail address of the company's IT director and asked him a few questiosn but we have yet to hear back from him. We hope to finish the final version of our presentation and begin recording some time next week.
