Dzani Ashi Management & Information Systems Week 8

Lecture: In this week's lecture we focused on business models in the business models in the digital world, we had a more in depth look at what kind of impact IS can have on organisations for example IS can make on organisation's structure flatter meaning that fewer managers are needed We also learned about Mintzberg's 5 types of organisational structure which include; entrepreneurial, machine bureaucracy, divisional bureaucracy, professional bureaucracy and democracy and we also learned about what is involved in operational level, managerial level and executive level and we also learned about the five types of organisational strategies as well as the competitive advantage of using IS and how the free-economics business models are applied in the digital world. Dzani Ashi Management & Information Systems Week 7

Lecture: In this week's Lecture we started to go through how to properly prepare and deliver a presentation in relation to our group work task as we are at the point in the assignment where groups are expected to have started working on their presentations and making preparations to record them. The lecture focused on talking us through several "do's and don'ts" in regards to creating and delivering a presentation, for example it was made very clear that our presentation slides should not have a lot of dialogue and that we should make sure to only include key details on each slide in order to ensure that we keep the audience's interest and also to demonstrate that we are genuinely knowledgeable about the subject of our presentation and that we are not simply reading our slides word-for-word.
